Grovetown, GA - Gordon Park Speedway hosted another weekly event and for the third time this season Wendell Chavous walked away the victor. This weekend's format was ran a bit different than usual as the crate late models ran heat races. However that did not stop the strength Chavous' Barry Wright Chassis has at this facility which Wendell is two time track champion in the limited late model division. Wendell had to battle through that heat race after being caught up in a early lap caution and went back to 7th. However when the checkers fell Wendell finished second, which put him starting 4th in the feature. When the green flew on the feature it was no time at all for Wendell to get out front passing the leader coming out of turn two and checking out on the field by a straightaway and more. When the checkered fell Chavous had earned his third win in as many starts at the 52 year old facility.

Grovetown, GA - Wendell Chavous returned to his home track of Gordon Park Speedway this past Saturday April 25th for the first time in 2009 and get another first of 2009. Wendell earned his first win of the 2009 season in a special increased purse event that paid $1000 to the winner. Wendell has been a roll this past two events leading into this past weekend with two top five finishes at Modoc Speedway his other home track. Wendell bested the field at the east Georgia facility after qualifying on the pole out of 13 cars entered in the event. Note Chavous has won two championships in the Limited Late Model division at Gordon Park in 2006 and 2007. Chavous has won a feature event at Gordon Park Speedway every year since 2005. Modoc, SC - Modoc Speedway open the gates for another weekend of racing on Friday April 17th paying the Fastrak Weekly sanctioned Crate Late Models $1500 to win their 25 lap feature. With 20 cars signed in Wendell Chavous would wheel his number 94 Barry Wright chassis to his second best finish of the season with another top five coming home in the 4th position in the Giffin Plumbing, Chavous Paint & Body, Big Dog Stump & Tree, Town & County Packing, Wendy's Automotive, C&L Mechanical, Southeastern Auto Sales, Dunnaway Racing Engines, South Bound Racing Photos, and Newman Racing Graphics sponsored Barry Wright.

Modoc, SC - Wendell Chavous and crew rolled into the Modoc Speedway Friday April 3rd with twenty two other crate late model teams in attempt to take away the Modoc Speedway weekly winners purse of $800. After qualifying  Wendell found himself with a 4th place starting position for the twenty five lap main event. When the green flag flew some serious racing commenced. In the end Wendell found the high side of the race track to his likening worked his was into the second spot before the checkered flag flew. Wendell will be in action next back at his home track of Modoc Speedway on April 17th, for a $1500 to win main event.
